I am Coming Home

My heart and I are mending.
I am learning how to weave,
bringing us together so that we may flow as one.
When I first began, I knew but didn’t know what I’d signed up for.
How long the bond would be because I feel as though
I am undoing myself over and over again—some moments
to simply feel my heart beat.
But sometimes it takes time to hear your heart speak.
To learn to hold it, love it, tend to it over and over again.
I think I know my heart more than I believe.
