Friederike Rahn is an artist and educator currently living in Vancouver, BC. Rahn studied ceramics at the Sheridan College School of Crafts and Design and received a BFA (ceramics major) from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1989. She teaches foundation ceramics, wheel-throwing, tableware, and surface and decoration at Emily Carr University of Art and Design and adult pottery at the Shadbolt Arts Centre in Burnaby. Rahn has exhibited in solo and group shows in the Pacific Northwest and in major centres across North America, and sells her work through numerous fine art galleries including Circle Craft (Vancouver), Studio 21 Fine Art (Halifax), and her home studio. She has participated in numerous visiting artist and artist residencies (including at the Banff Centre for the Arts and Archie Bray Foundation, Montana), and has been the recipient of Canada Council for the Arts funding.
